Holywoodle is a fun game in which you must figure out the relationship between two actors. Like in Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon, you'll start with two actors and have to find the movies they both starred in with as few guesses as possible. Each right answer costs you one move, and each wrong answer costs you three moves. Play Holywoodle and feel what it's like to live in Hollywood!
Players in this free online game are assigned two new actors each day to connect with either a movie in which they have both acted or costars with whom they have both acted. The goal of the game is to connect the two actors with as few moves as possible. There is a hint system that will suggest a film or actor if you get stuck, but using it will increase your total number of guesses. Any wrong guesses will add three to the total.
Do you think you can finish it in one? If you can't, try to think of a movie where the first actor was with an actor who's also been in a different movie with the second actor. So, guess a movie, then an actor, then a movie, until you've finished the chain and linked the two!
Let's use today's puzzle as an example. J. K. Simmons and Angourie Rice are the two actors. You start by saying the name of a movie Simmons was in, then you say the name of another actor from that movie. You keep switching between movies and actors until you get to a movie in which Rice is the main character. Unlike Wordle, there is no limit on how many times you can guess, so you can keep going until you find the answer.
NOTE: Your game stats will only change after your FIRST daily playthrough.
Stuck? Use a CLUE. Hints give you an extra move, but they may save you moves in the long run.
An INCORRECT guess will cost you 3 moves, so don't type a movie that the current actor wasn't in or an actor who wasn't in the current movie.
If you are guessing movies and type something that the goal actor was in but not the current actor, you will get PARTIAL CREDIT, which is 2 moves. We weren't looking for that, but you sure know your movies!
