What is Polydle?

Polydle is a multi-grid version of Wordle that lets you choose how many grids you want to solve at once. You can solve anywhere from 1 to 2315 grids at once. This means you can solve random wordles on multiple grids or try to find all the words in a single game. As you take on more grids, the more chances you have to overcome the challenge. So, good luck!

How to Play

Find all the Polydle words with as few guesses as possible. Each guess must be a 5-letter word that makes sense. Hit the Enter key to send in your answer. After each guess, the colors will show how close you were to each word. You can see all the words by scrolling left and right. For each word you haven't figured out yet, you'll get a set of colors. Green squares show that the letter is in the right place in the word. Yellow squares show that the letter is in the word but not where it should be. The white squares show that the letter doesn't appear anywhere in the word. Every day, there are new Polydles for each number and mode.

Polydle Modes

Classic

In classic mode, your goal is to make as few guesses as possible across all words. Even though the game doesn't put a limit on how many times you can guess, n+5 is a good score to aim for (where n is the number of words).

Speed

It doesn't matter how many guesses you make in speed mode. The only thing that counts is how long it takes. Your goal is to find all the words as quickly as you can, no matter how many guesses it takes.

Perfect

Perfect mode is a bit harder to understand. The idea is that you try to play perfectly every time. So that this can happen, the game will start with the first word already typed in. To start the game, you just need to hit Enter. From then on, it will make sure that there is always (at least) one column with a unique word based on the clues given so far. With each guess, you need to find a column where this is true and then figure out the unique word. If you get this word right, it will lead you to more clues in other columns, until you can figure out what each column is.

You lose Polydle if you make three wrong guesses. So, if your guess is wrong, the line will turn red and you won't get any more hints. The only thing you learn from this is that the word you guessed is not the answer to any of the other columns. You can make a wrong guess in one of two ways. You can guess a word that doesn't fit any of the clues in any of the columns. The other way, which is harder to avoid, is that you picked the wrong column, which means you picked a column where there was more than one way to solve the clues so far. In this case, it just means that the answer is in a different column, and you might want to try that one instead.

If you do lose, the game will show you the rest of the words in one of the correct orders. This means that each guess will be based on the clues that came before it. Even though there might be other possible orders, Polydle will only show one of them. Have fun!
