Artle is a daily guessing game inspired by Wordle, where players must guess the artist from four pictures.

What is Artle?

Artle is an art-based game that was just released. Artle gives players a new game every day. It was made to be a fun way for art lovers to explore the NGA's huge collection. Wordle definitely got the attention of a lot of gamers around the world, but Artle could be a lot of fun for art lovers and creative gamers.

Artle: How to play

The game is like Wordle in that each day, users see a new set of four artworks from the museum's collection and have four chances to guess who made them. The first image that appears is typically a lesser-known or early work, and if you guess incorrectly, it advances to the next, slightly more famous work, and so on, for a total of four guesses. After four guesses, if the player is still wrong, the name of the artist is shown.

The following is a brief description of how Artle works and how it is played:

• Players are given a piece of art, which could be a painting, photo, sculpture, drawing, piece of decorative art, or anything else that can be touched.
• Players must type the name of a known artist into the text box below the picture.
• After the player enters the name, their guess will be checked to see if it is right or not.
• If the guess is wrong, a red "X" will show up. A different piece of art by the same artist will pop up to point the player in the right direction.
• The player has four chances to get the name of the artist right. This is one of the biggest differences between Artle and Wordle in terms of how they are played since Wordle gives you 6 chances to guess each word.

A link to each artist's profile will be revealed to players once they've guessed correctly or run out of attempts to guess the artist's name. The players will learn about a new artist every day, as well as the history behind some of their most renowned works.

The museum's 155,000 pieces by 15,000 artists are displayed to Artle players in sets of four. Every day, a new set of artwork is provided. Users can easily share scores on social media. The upper right corner of the page allows returning visitors to view their statistics. Happy guessing!
